The fall migration of the monarch butterfly is underway! Get involved with monarch conservation by tagging monarchs as they pass through campus. Monarch tagging continues to be an important tool to help us understand the monarch migration and annual cycle – a long-term record is crucial to understand the dynamics of such complex natural phenomena. No prior experience needed! We will provide the insect nets, tags, and information. If we don’t come across many monarchs, we will also have an ongoing BioBlitz as we walk through the paths looking for other pollinators on campus. Either way, it’ll be a fun time! This is an outdoor event - close toed shoes and long pants are strongly recommended, bring your own water.
